A battery you need to go through the wheel well to get at.

they are weak, poorly located, often too small, and frequently open over the hvac and radio controls

Any headlamp that takes 5 minutes or more to change a bulb.

To add: any headlamp that requires the removal of body panels/parts to get at.

How about a battery that when it’s replaced you need to tell the car’s computer it’s been replaced and if you change the Ah rating because you can’t find a battery with the same Ah rating as the original battery that’s another process?

Manufacturers all building their own touchscreens and interfaces, all of which basically suck, but none of them are the same. I can absolutely assure you that crappy informatics systems are responsible for a lot more death than Dieselgate.

Welded on bumper reinforcements (WJ Grand Cherokee and Pontiac G6).
Brake lines routed through a composite (plastic) radiator support upper tie bar, with the main ABS pump/module mounted just behind a headlight. Pretty sure this was an ‘09ish Charger. Blew my mind that an otherwise light front end hit pretty much trashed the braking system.

The intermediate shaft on Porsche engines should count. Supposedly had no problems if you drove the cars hard, but shat the bed if driven like normal people would. Who’da thunk?

On the other spectrum of biodegradable wire, the duroplast Trabant bodies that never biodegrade to a fault.

How about the cabin air filter on the Focus?

I have a car that acts like the whole front suspension is coming loose on purpose in an attempt to muffle bumps, but I mean, it’s more notionally horrible than really all that bad in practice.
Still: A-arm moving around on its own and changing the steering, what the fuck.

Wire? Try biodegradeable timing chain guides .

That’s nothing. You know the Germans also made cars where they put the engine in the back of the car?

How about a battery under the rear seat that catches fire when people sit on the rear seat?

plastic cooling components in BMW, plastic timing chain guides in Audis, basically any vehicle where plastics are subjected to wear or heat for extended periods. We all know they’re going to fail, just put it in the metal ones. Cheap out on something that won’t destroy my engine instead.

You’re not wrong, but that’s a lot of cars! Including my Camaro. A special award should go to pickups with the tank in the cab.

I shouldn’t judge, my tank is literally under the rear seats.

My favorite was the Mustang where the trunk floor was actually the top of the gas tank. They didn’t even bother with a piece of sheet metal to separate the two.

The Cavalier RS, the whole thing. Worst idea ever.

How about the Super Beetle, which had the tank situated right over the driver’s legs?

But it has a big bumper so it’s perfectly safe!

Dammit,I have this exact truck and I didn’t have to watch the video to know what it was about and curse the sky thinking about replacing my damn headlights again.
